Reverse Channel Letters
Neon inside the
letter cavity shines out the back of the letter. The
letter is spaced off-of the wall slightly so that a Because light shines out the back of the letter they cannot be installed on raceways or wireways unless backplates are employed. A properly manufactured letter has a clear Lexan "Bird Shield" behind the letter so that birds cannot nest inside the letter. Many cheap manufacturers leave this off, and the letter looks like a hay-field shortly after installation. In other aspects a reverse channel letter and a plastic-faced channel letter are manufactured similarly. Please visit our "Channel Letter" tab for manufacturing details. Unless a reverse channel letter is quite large it does not attract the attention a standard channel letter does. Therefore it's use is generally avoided by retail businesses, but is used by doctors, businesses in office buildings, etc. for image reasons.
